Algebra practice question

A rectangle has a perimeter of 60 centimetres, and its length is at least twice its width. What is the greatest possible width of the rectangle, in centimetres?

Answer: 10

l = 30 − w and l ≥ 2w give 30 − w ≥ 2w, so w ≤ 10.

Common wrong answers

If you answered 5
5 uses a perimeter of 30.
If you answered 15
15 ignores the length condition.
If you answered 20
