AlgebraVery hardIntegers satisfying two inequalities at once

Algebra practice question

How many integers x satisfy both 3x − 2 ≥ 7 and x + 4 < 10?

Answer: 3

The first gives x ≥ 3 and the second gives x < 6, so x is 3, 4, or 5.

Common wrong answers

If you answered 2
2 leaves out 3, which the ≥ allows.
If you answered 4
4 includes 6, but the second inequality is strict.
If you answered 6
6 counts 0 through 5.
