Answer: B. 2
Slope = (change in y)/(change in x) = (7 − 3)/(2 − 0) = 4/2 = 2. Choice D (4) is the rise alone — don't forget to divide by the run.
Why the other answers are wrong

- Slope 1 would mean the y-values rise by the same amount the x-values do, but here y rises 4 while x rises only 2, so the slope is 4/2 = 2.
- C. 3
- 3 is the y-intercept — the y-value at x = 0 — not the slope. The slope is (7 − 3)/(2 − 0) = 2.
- D. 4
- 4 is the rise (7 − 3) by itself; you still have to divide by the run (2 − 0) to get the slope.
