About
SAT prep shouldn't cost $400
Hit 1600 is an independent, self-funded project with one premise: the quality of your SAT prep shouldn't depend on what your family can pay. Everything here — 10,000 practice questions, adaptive practice, full-length tests, the AI tutor, your study plan — is free.
How the questions are made
Every question is original and written for this site, authored with AI assistance and checked in layers: every math answer is verified by computation before a question is accepted, every question ships with a full worked solution, 9,996 of them explain the specific mistake behind each wrong answer, and automated checks reject duplicates and structural errors before anything is published. The last layer is you: every question has a report button, a person reads every report, and bad questions get fixed or pulled.
We are deliberately open about this method. The entire bank is public — you can read every question and judge the work before trusting it with your prep.
Why it's free
Serving practice questions costs almost nothing at our scale, so we charge nothing. If that ever changes, the promise in our terms holds: what is free today will not be moved behind a paywall.
The honesty rules we hold ourselves to
- No fake testimonials or reviews — the site launched without any, and shows verifiable numbers instead.
- Every statistic on this site is computed from the question bank itself when the site is built.
- We never claim or imply our questions are official College Board material, and we never promise you a score.
- Minimal data: practice without an account touches no database at all.
