Terms of use

Hit 1600 is free SAT practice. These terms exist so both sides know where they stand — they are deliberately short.

The service

Hit 1600 provides original SAT practice questions, adaptive practice, practice tests, and AI-generated explanations, free of charge. Everything labeled free today stays usable without payment; if we ever add paid features, nothing you already rely on will be moved behind a paywall retroactively.

What our content is — and is not

Every question is original, written for this site. Our material is practice: it is not official College Board content, and no score here is a promise about your score on the real test. We work hard on accuracy, and when a student reports an error we review it — but the service is provided "as is", without warranties, and our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows. (You paid nothing; we can stand behind the work, but not insure your test day.)

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and give us a real email so account recovery works. You can delete your account and all its data at any time by emailing hello@hit1600.com. We may close accounts that abuse the service.

Fair use of a free thing

Use the site for your own study, your classroom, or your tutoring — including commercial tutoring — with attribution and a link. Don't scrape or republish the question bank wholesale, don't resell access to it, don't hammer the servers with automated traffic, and don't use the AI tutor for anything other than studying. That's the whole list.

AI-generated content

Tutor explanations are generated by an AI model and can occasionally be wrong. Every question also ships with a human-reviewed worked solution; if the two ever disagree, trust the worked solution and please report it with the button on the question.

Changes and governing law

If these terms change materially, the date above changes and account holders are notified by email. Disputes are governed by the laws of the United States. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
