Three friends split the cost of a $48 gift equally, and each also pays $4 toward the wrapping. How many dollars does each friend pay for the gift itself?
Answer: 16
The gift alone is $48 shared three ways: 48 ÷ 3 = 16. (The $4 wrapping is separate.)
Common wrong answers
- If you answered 12
