Advanced Math practice question

The function r is defined by r(x) = 2(x − 3)² − 8. What is the distance between the two values of x for which r(x) = 0?

Answer: 4

(x − 3)² = 4 gives x = 1 or x = 5, which are 4 apart.

Common wrong answers
