A ball dropped from a height of 8 metres rebounds to three quarters of its previous height after each bounce. What height, in metres, does the ball reach after the third bounce?
Answer: 3.375 or 27/8
Each bounce multiplies the height by 3/4: 8 × (3/4)³ = 8 × 27/64 = 27/8 = 3.375.
